This is a disc-system function, consisting of a 2-layer top lid as well as a base lid. The first layer of the 2-layer lid preserves the aroma, protects from light and guarantees the optimial product shelf life. Before the discs are put into the Senseo machine the top layer is peeled off to reveal the second layer – a transparent plastic film. The film layer guarantees the correct flow of hot water into the mixing chamber of the pot by means of accurately placed holes. Finally the base lid ensures a targeted discharge of the brewed hot drink.

Constantia-Flexibles’ innovative Low Seal Lidding reached a technical milestone in low temperature sealing. The Low Seal Lidding provides a tight and peelable seal on PP and PS containers at significantly lower temperatures than were previously possible: 140°C requested for Low Seal compared to 200°C+ for usual lids.

This innovation offers savings in the production process and eliminates a potential customer and consumer “Dissatisfier”.
